Acid Washing
If your pool needs an acid wash, your first clue will be in its appearance. Murky or dark water is the most common sign your pool needs an acid wash. Also, check your calendar. If your pool has been sitting six months without maintenance, it could be a good indication of buildup – consequently, you may need an acid wash.
PebbleTec and PebbleSheen
To ensure the best appearance and quality of your swimming pool, use the only true pebble surface: Pebble Technology. At Emerald Pools & Spas, we prefer the surface products that are PebbleTec and PebbleSheen. Nothing will look as natural and polished in your custom pool as using Pebble Technology.
Swimming Pool Filter Cleaning
Three different kinds of filters are available for use with in-ground pools: diatomaceous earth (DE), cartridge, and sand. Which one your pool has is likely to be determined by its size. If your pool’s filter needs to be replaced, choose a filter at least one size larger than you think you need.
Types of Filters
Diatomaceous (DE) earth filter
This natural, eco-friendly water polisher can trap debris as small as 5 microns. Made of tiny fossil exoskeletons, the heavy-duty DE creates balanced water flow throughout the filter tank.
Cartridge filter
This type of filter can handle high-flow rates with optimum hydraulic performance. Corrosion resistant, it’s long lasting and provides the clearest water possible.
Sand filter
Unlike the other two filter types, we recommend the sand be changed once every 3 to 5 years, depending on whether the sand has “rounded”.
Pool Tile Cleaning
Emerald Pools and Spas cleans your pool tiles using either glass or pool bead blasting. These methods deliver a blast of fine glass beads in a gentle, low-pressure stream that removes calcium deposits. Not sure if you need bead blasting?
